Now Hiring - Patient Account Representative in Hendricks, MN

We are looking for a full-time team member to join us in the Hendricks Community Hospital business office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school degree required.
• Must possess good communication skills, both written and oral to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, the physicians, the public and media and to write reports and prepare manuals.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Must possess good organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize and facilitate department.
• Requires analytical skills and the ability to analyze and evaluate problems.
• Should be able to use common sense and be a fair judge of character.
• Must exhibit a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
• Good leadership, initiative and judgment skills.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Experience with Meditech EHR recommended.
• Accounting knowledge and experience highly recommended.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Moderate physical work.
• Near visual acuity for reading and preparing reports, forms, policies etc.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain emotional stability under stress.
• Flexibility to handle changing situations and emergency needs.
• Requires frequent talking, listening, reading, and writing.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY:

• Follows HCHA policies and procedures correctly.
• Responsible for facility billing procedures, submitting claims, corrections and denials.
• May performs duties to include assisting customers/patients at reception window.
• Performs duties to assist in possible cross training with other positions within the business office.
• Performs standard medical billing and accounting procedures.
• Utilizes Microsoft Word and Excel software.
• Reviews and recommends accounts for collection action with assistance from lead hospital patients account representative.
• Assist with various Accounts Payable duties (scanning of invoices, entering invoices, review vendor statements.)
• Assist with posting of hospital payments and adjustments.
• Reviews accounts after daily posting is complete.
• Assist with the daily deposit.
• Assist with hospital billing duties (patient statements, account checks, insurance claims, private pay collections, etc.)
• Assist with answering hospital phones.
• Assist with registering hospital outpatients, ER and inpatients.
